Ministering previously in Illinois, Minnesota, and Michigan, Pastor Thompson came to Good News Baptist church in October, 1996. He and his wife, Faye have 2 grown daughters, Becky; and Beth and her husband, Sean.

Our Doctrine
Among other equally biblical truths, we believe and maintain the following:
We believe the Holy Scriptures are the divinely inspired Word of God and are authoritative in all matters of Christian faith and practice.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit - Who is the Creator and sustainer of all things.
We believe in the diety of our Lord Jesus Christ, his virgin birth, his sinless life, his atoning death on the cross, his bodily resurrection, and his ascension to the right hand of the father.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Saviour of men, and that men are born again through genuine repentance and personal faith in him.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit to teach, convict, guide, and enable Christians to live a godly life.
We believe in the imminent personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the bodily resurrection of the saved and the unsaved. Those who are saved will live with the Lord forever.
We believe that the local church is a company of believers baptized in the Name of the Triune God, and observing the ordinances and principles laid down in the New Testament.
We believe in the eternal security of the believer.
